PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
J.A. Henckels has been manufacturing fine cutlery since 1731. Made in Solingen, Germany, its knives are forged, not stamped. Blade density is improved using the FRIODUR ice-hardening process, which provides a sharper initial edge for easier maintenance over time. Larger knives are crafted using Henckels' exclusive SIGMAFORGE® standard. Part of the Four Star series, this knife is made of high-carbon stainless steel and precision-honed, with a laser-controlled edge, a balanced super-bolster, and a tang that extends to the back of the polypropylene handle, which is permanently bonded for seamless accuracy. Dishwasher-safe.

really good knife
I really like all the Henckles 4-star knives that I've purchased. Please note that there is a huge difference between Henckles and Henckles International. The latter are made by a Chinese company and are a flimsy imitation at best. The 4-star is by the German company Henckles and has all the hallmarks of the fine quality that they are known including cold hardened steel, tang that goes all the way through the handle, well-proportioned handle and blade so it balances well in the hand, and holds an edge really well. The thin blade has enough flexibility to get into small spaces, but still very strong and cuts through meat like butter. While Henckels has a separate tomato knife, a cost savings is to use this knife instead since I've found it to be excellent for cutting tomatoes.

nice knife
Very nice knife for the money. Use it quite oftenfor boning chicken and fish and it does the job with ease.

I have had a set of these Henkle knives for several years and love them. This individual knife is one of my most used. We purchased this knife for a friend. She has never had good knives and cannot stop commenting on how wonderful it is.
