Cuisinart 5 speed hand mixer

It's sturdy, although a bit heavy. The beaters are nice, sort of combination old style and whisk. Wish it came with more than one type, but the sale was half price, so no complaints. Seems to work well, but a little awkward...beater release is just below the handle and a bit too easy to release while grabbing the handle. The release button is a little flimsy as well. Maybe they made it flexible so it wouldn't irritate while holding the mixer, but I find it distracting. It would have been better to position it at the top near the settings as most other beaters are designed. Definite design flaws, but OK for the discounted price.

Just what I wanted

I have been wanting a new hand mixer for some time. I have a large stand mixer. Due to a temporary disability I was not able to go shopping. Being able to find exactly what I wanted on line was a real help.

slower first speed

One handy dandy hand mixer when hauling out the big mixer is not necessary. One of the problems with the hand mixer is the inconsistence in beater speed. You may start out slowly, but with no encouragement, the beater speed mysteriously increases until splatters are going everywhere. This hand mixer has true speeds that are consistent.

Purple Mixer

I love this mixer, the color was exactly as pictured and it fits with all the other purple in my kitchen. It was well packaged and arrived in a timely manner.
