I had to replace my old electric kettle after dropping it on its head and breaking the spout/cover. I have used electric kettles for over a decade and this has all the features I have come to insist upon: cordless, window to see water level, auto shutoff, smooth and splashless pouring.
This model heats very quickly and has a large two quart capacity, also, any water left in the caraffe keeps warm for a long time, all of which are improvements over the one I had to replace.

Electric Kettle
We first learned of this product on a cruise with Norwegian Cruise Line. This electric kettle was in all of the cabins along with cups and an assortment of teas. After we arrived home, I had to look for it. It will probably save me from burning down the house from using the stove top tea pot. It works great. The water is hot and it heats up a lot quicker than the stove top method or the microwave. My family saw it at a recent party and some of them want to buy it also.

Third try - the best one yet
Over the past eight years, we have tried three different electric tea kettles. This one is the third and the best. Here is what is important to us - it is easy to refill, it is easy to handle and pour, it is easy to clean. The heating element is fast for the amount of water it boils. It makes some start up noise but no more than the other two we had. Overall satisfaction!

Very Hot Water in less than 5 minutes
I drink green tea throughout the day during the cold winter months. Since our average Winter lows are in the negative 20's a walk around the block can mean a radical drop in body temperature as wind sheers whip at the only skin I've left exposed to the elements. Hot water has become a form of instant gratification since I've moved here, and this tea kettle allows me to keep my body at a comfortable temperature. I use it 10 to 20 times a day. It takes little more than seconds to get the hottest water you'll ever want in your tea cup, and I haven't boiled my pot dry once since I've been using it, which was all too familiar in the past. I use RO water so I never have scale build up on the inside. Before I had my RO system installed I ran an occasional pot of vinegar and water to clean any mineral build up on the inside. I'm so crazy about this product I keep a new one the shelf for a quick replacement. While they look great on the counter, and seem to last forever (when I don't fill above the designated fill-line), I never want to be without it. It is the single most important appliance in my kitchen.
