When I purchased this I was truly not sure how big 8.5 qts was now I know. I will love this as I can now roast a very small turkey or large chicken in this Dutch Oven. I have not used it as of this writing, however I have used Calphalon products and have found them to be just what they say. I look forward to useing this for stews, soups and roasting.
