The Classic Guide to Delicious Dishes, with More Than 300 Recipes
In her first full-length recipe collection since The Deen Family Cookbook, the Food Network icon returns to her roots with the definitive—and delicious—guide to Southern cooking and hospitality.
As a young wife, Paula Deen regularly turned to classic American cookbooks like Better Homes & Gardens and The Joy of Cooking for help negotiating her way around everything from making biscuits, roasting chickens, and setting a table. Now, in the spirit of those well-loved tomes, Paula brings out her own timeless and indispensable collection: PAULA DEEN’S SOUTHERN COOKING BIBLE.
It is the most comprehensive repertoire of Southern dishes you’ll ever be able to find, and they are all done Paula’s way. 80% of the recipes are new, but every one of them is considered fundamental to eating in the South. The book is structured like The Joy of Cooking and other bibles of the kitchen: from the beginning of the meal—hot and cold appetizers—to the end—cakes, cookies, and pie. It has how-to illustrations throughout, showing how to peel a shrimp and how to make sweet potato balls without getting marshmallow all over your hands. Complete with sixteen pages of full-color photos, PAULA DEEN'S SOUTHERN COOKING BIBLE will be the kind of must-have book that will be on every bridal and house-warming registry, a culinary and lifestyle reference book for the next generation.

Signed Cooking Bible - Ha !
I recently purchased 4 cooking bibles (signed copy)and received them as promised. When looking at the signature in each, I found that it is in exactly the same place on the same page and the signature itself has no variation at all!! I refuse to believe these are signed copies by Paula ... more like a xerox signature of Paula's - what a dissappointment! I won't make that mistake again!!

I was disappointed because it has a Lot of her old recipes that are in her other books. I really was expecting New and exciting recipes.
I will not be purchasing anything else from Paula Deen. She has changed so much since her begining shows. It seems now all she wants to do is make a ton of money.

disappointed
I was disappointed in the recipes in the cookbook. I have one other Paula Deen cookbook & love the recipes in it. Thia book was very nicely done, but the recipes were not very appealing to me. I just loaned it to my sister to get her opinion. I get the magazine & usually enjoy the recipes & even try some of them. Sorry that I am being critical because I like everything about Paula Deen!
