The saltbox is larger than I thought. I don't like the way it opens, very awkward and need two hands. I was going to buy Alton Brown's salt container, but purchased this instead. Not happy with it but I will keep it.

Let me just tell you this: I love love love it!!!! I had wanted one for the longest time. I finally got one, and I think I might chop someones fingers off if they tried to walk out of my kitchen with it. hehe Seriously, I do love it. Especially the fact that I don't have to worry about losing the lid. And I can actually get my chubby little hands in there and get a pinch of this and a dab of that. Thanks Paula! You certainly hit a home run with this one!

I have been wanting this salt box for some time now and I'm so glad I took the plunge! It's a good size, it lists the dimensions...I always read dimensions so there are no surprises. The wood is lovely and it functions beautifully. I set it right beside my stove, ready to use but also freshly preserved.

This product was received with poor workmanship and consists of a poorly executed design. The inner surface if the lid was oiled or stained, making the box unusable for salt as the taste of the stain would be absorbed by whatever you put in this box. There was also a glop of wood putty smeared over the top near the hinge. Unacceptable to be given as the gift it was meant to be. I will be returning this sub par product.

Salt Box

I have wanted a wooden salt box for years. I saw Paula use this one on her cooking show and had to have it. This salt box is divided into two parts so it allows me to have my favorite salt and freshly ground pepper on hand by my stove. I can add S&P to my dishes by the pinch or by the measuring spoon without having to fight with the cardboard salt container or pepper mill while my food is cooking. And I love the larger than average size! Not only is it a decorative container in my kitchen, I don't have to refill it every other day!
