This is my third Bread Machine and it is the best of 3 different brand names. I make all my breads and love making that special bread you can't buy in a store. To wake up with the smell of hot bread baking and coffee brewing will make you enjoy getting up in the morning.

This is not the most beautiful appliance you'll ever own, kind of a retro look, but you'll love the bread it puts out. We have had a bread machine for ten years, but when this machine made a loaf we ate the whole thing in one mass munch-out. The insides were moist, but not too moist. The outsides were chewy and just crisp enough. The mixing paddle had been removed so there wasn't the big hole in the bottom of the loaf. And, another good thing, the pan is immersible. All in all a pleasure to use and fairly easy to operate.

This is my 4th bread machine and is the best! I've made 4 loaves so far and all 4 have come out perfect! I've also made pizza crust and it was a big hit with our guests. There's so many options to choose to get your bread exactly the way you like it. I recommend this to anyone who is looking for a good bread machine!

I love the way this breadmaker makes a horizontal loaf. I also like how you can take the kneading paddle out so there is not a large hole in the bottom of the bread. I would recommend this machine to anyone who loves making homemade bread.

According to the features, this looks to be a good product, but I have returned two of them. The first one I got, the crust was really hard, and it made a lot of noise. The new one was worse than the first one. I just don’t understand how two bread makers from Cuisinart, of all brands, were defective. The second one I got made a racket when it was baking as the “convection fan” sounded like it was rubbing against something. The kneading was also loud, but I think that is by design not defect. The loaf came out not mixed well (there was still flower in the corners) and the crust was hard as a rock. Major bummer.

Like others, I had qualms about the Cuisinart after reading many negative reviews. I did a LOT of research and decided that if I got a machine that functioned as it was designed to I would probably be satisfied with it. I was interested in a bread baker that could bake French/Italian (something which my Zo, which finally needed replacing, did not do) and was intrigued by the convection fan (since the Zo often had much lighter tops). Cuisinart seemed to have trouble with their baker in the early days. Folks that were lucky enough to get a good machine were pleased, but the many that received a lemon were not at all happy with the product. I am pleased to say that I have been very happy with my bread baker. Many of the glitches I have read about in other reviews have never happened to mine. In some cases I found that certain things that were complained about could be answered by a thorough reading of the manual (which is easy to read and explains everything in detail). WARNING: some aspects of this machine are slightly different from other bakers I have used, so reading the instructions does help. Yes, the machine does tend toward a dark crust - I keep mine on light and it is fine. I do occasionally get a bit of flour kicked over onto the element, but only if I have had to add more. The 2 lb. loaf is tall - I tend to make 11/2 lb. loaves more often now. The 1 lb. loaf is great for dinner! the Artisan setting is fabulous for putting my specialty doughs together and forgetting them until ready to bake. I have also used the rapid/quick setting and get almost equally good results. Considering the price, I feel that I have gotten a wonderful deal! Five stars

Great gluten-free bread
Product Rating By Janet (Garden Grove, CA)
I purchased this machine as my husband and I were just diagnosed with gluten intolerance and the store bought breads were undesirable. Having read several reviews on Celiac sites regarding this machine along with several others, I decided to purchase this one because most of the reviews reported great success with gluten-free breads. I have not been disappointed. Right from the start I have never had a botched loaf of bread. It is very easy to use and cleans up easily. I would highly recommend this machine to anyone.

Bought this unit specifically to bake gluten-free breads which have proven somewhat problematical in our old unit. The Gluten Free setting works like a champ. I recommend this unit to anyone who is on a GF diet.

Cuisinart 2 lb. Bread Maker
Product Rating By Jean (Charleston, SC)
This is an excellent bread maker! Very easy to use. Comes with a book of recipes. You can set the bread maker to turn on at a later time so you will have warm, fresh bread when you arrive home from work. It's wonderful!

I've used a Panasonic bread machine for many years and loved it. However, the pan wore out, and my model is so old, they no longer make replacement parts, so I was in the market for a new machine. After researching them all, this Cuisinart sounded like the best option. It initially took some getting used to, and I had a couple mediocre loaves and one pretty much failed loaf, but I have since gotten the hang of the dfferent options, and now i not only can make the recipes that came with the machine, but also my old ones. The ingredient measurements are quite different between the Panasonic and the Cuisinart cookbooks, but this has not ended up being a problem. I particularly like the beep saying when you may remove the paddle. The many options take getting used to and some experimentation, but they really open things up for producing some interesting breads. The machine looks very fab! I also researched replacment parts, and the Cuisinart bread pan is considerably less expensive than the former Panasoniic pan was. Yippee! I also own a large Zo, but i never liked the way it baked bread. I only use it for making dough, and for that use, it remains my favorite. The Cuisinart bakes very well.

only useful for dough
Product Rating By Mary F. (SAN CARLOS, CA)
1. Info. manual is disorganized, no index, no way to find details. Reader is evidently expected to memorize it before use.
2. Recipe part of book is also un-indexed.
3. Both part are printed back-to back--if you use markers to mark sections in the manual, then turn the book over to use a recipe, the markers are on the bottom of the part you're reading. Not well designed.
4. Loaves produced are NOT rectangular regular bread sized loaves, more the shape of antique mud bricks.
5. Honey whole wheat recipe doesn't work. Need to add gluten, milk, and more yeast for it to work--and then only in the dough program. Needs to be finished in a regular oven.
6. The cooking cycle is VERY noisy, and also rattles anything on the table it's sitting on.
7. The machine has VERY SHARP EDGES. Unsafe for kids or older adults with thin skin on their hands. The lid has a sharp handle with which to be opened. The bread pan has sharp protrusions [clips] which hook on to more sharp clips in the machine. Very difficult to wash the bread pan without cutting one's hands on the clips.
8. Requires a lot of strength to insert or remove the bread pan from the machine. Brute force must be used! Since the purpose of using a bread-maker is to avoid the work of kneading--why require such force to use one?

good breadmaker for the price
Product Rating By tamara (ARLINGTON, WA)
This breadmaker looks good- works well and is fairly simple to use. The crust and texture of the bread is more true to oven baked bread than my dak baker which usually was rubbery and soggy in texture. One of my disappointments was the claimed horizontal loaf is not a true horizontal loaf pan size- it is just a bit longer than square shape but it is fine for the 1.5 lb loaf. It does not have a sourdough cycle. And the artisan style bread settings are only for rising and not baking. I mistakenly over looked these features during my bread maker search. But it is a good machine for the price. I like being able to take out the paddle at the beep even though there remains a slight hole imprint after baking due to the design of the machine. Over all it is definitely a good buy! I found the recipes work best if the flour is weighed per cup.

excellent bread maker
Product Rating By Daniel (Hilo, HI)
I have had this bread maker about 3 weeks now to replace a more basic model and I am delighted with it.
I love the fact that it is programmable and you really can program it to make fresh bread for when you wake up. I have stopped buying bread from the store in preference for the loaves I make with this machine. They really are delicious. The recipes in the book are good.
I don't find the instructions hard to read -on the contrary, they are very clear and simple.
I was concerned before I received the machine it might be high tech and complicated to use, but in fact the opposite is true. You only need to select an option for 3 separate buttons -loaf/ dough quantity/ size, crust and type of bread, unless you use the delay timer. It is easy to use, I have even had my 11 year old operate it.
Some people mentioned that the crust was too dark on the medium setting -I haven't had that problem.
I have also made pizza dough and fruit bread which turned out well too,
I am using the machine 4 plus times a week as it does the job so well.
Also I have to admit it does look good on the counter, although that was not high priority for me,

DO NOT BUY
Product Rating By aimee (Stanardsville, VA)
I have been very disappointed in this product and am seriosly considering returning it. It mixes and bakes bread fine on the smallest loaf setting but at the larger settings it goes "off track" and I have to pause the machine and snap the loaf pan back in its cradle. I mainly bought this for the delay time feature which is now useless to me because I can't leave the machine alone because I am constantly having to fix it. So much for having a fresh loaf of bread when I get home from work!

Excellent bread maker
Product Rating By William (Orlando, FL)
I have used other brands of bread makers with varying degrees of success.  This one, however, is the best.  It's easy to use and program, easy to clean and results are wonderful.  I've made both recipes from the product booklet and adapted a few from some favorite family recipes.  The bread has turned out on all occasions to be wonderful.  I highly recommend this product.

Nice Bread Maker
Product Rating By Kenneth (Clinton, NC)
I bought this as a gift and the persons first loaf looked really nice. As with any new appliance there is some experimenting to do to get things perfected.

gluten free cycle is great
Product Rating By Donna (Harrisburg, PA)
My daughter is sensitive to gluten so I have been baking her breads. I bought this machine because some of the reviewers claimed it was good for gluten free baking. They were right! The bread comes out beautiful! It also worke great for bread for the rest of the family. Some of the reviews that I read say that the crust comes out too dark. We have found that the crust does come out darker than it did with our old bread machine but we like it. I would recommend setting the machine to a light setting if you don't like a deeper crust. The inside of the loaf is always soft and moist. I am very happy with my purchase.

This machine works very well. Lots of baking options to go with all the different recipes that are available for bread machines. Regular and rapid cycles allow for flexibility when making multiple loaves in a day. Good instruction and recipe book that comes with the machine. With Cuisinart, I've never been disappointed.

Product Rating By Debra (SOMERVILLE, ME)
Makes absolutely wonderful bread. Only criticism is that it's advertised as a horizontal loaf pan -- it's really sort of in between -- 2 lb loaves are too tall for the toaster. 1 1/2 lb loaves are perfect size for the toaster. All in all, very pleased. Love the different menu options.

Product Rating By Joan (WINDERMERE, FL)
this is a fine breadmaker!!! I am using it frequently, getting used to it, after having a different one for many years. I love the ability to make a 2lb loaf.
My biggest issue with it is the release of the blade. Having the ability to remove it before baking is wonderful, however, it is very difficult to remove, especially while holding onto a large amount of dough, it is VERY hard to remove from the pan, but once out, the process is wonderful.

I enjoy this baker, it is loud, but my other one was as well, so that means little to me..

I recommend this machine, the recipes are good, and the resulting bread is great!!!
